About Bureel

The paperwork, on one desk

In Flanders, the self-employed still go to the 'bureel' in the evening: the room with the files, the receipts and the invoices. Bureel takes its name and its image from that room.

Why Bureel exists

A small business often does its paperwork in the evening, with a shoebox full of receipts and a software package made for big companies. Bureel gives each job its own app, simple enough for a baker and honest enough for an accountant.

How we make the apps

Every screen in plain language, every amount and every rule with an official source and a date it was last checked. Anything not checked is marked as an estimate. If you spot a mistake, email contact@nealvdv.be.

Who makes Bureel

Bureel comes from Neal Van de Velde (nealvdv), a small Belgian web business. Each app has its own name, brand and domain. What we build for ourselves, we also build to measure for clients.

Fairly priced, private, calm

Some of the apps are completely free, and in the others the core is free. If you want more, you pay a fair price, and non-profits run only by volunteers use everything for free. Part of what Bureel earns goes to a good cause.

Four languages, from here

Bureel knows the Belgian rules, from VAT to the three regions, and is available in Dutch, French, German and English, always in that order.

Our foundation

nealvdv works from a Christian foundation. For Bureel that means something simple: doing business honestly and not deceiving your neighbour. No hidden costs, no tricks, honest about what we do not know. The apps themselves are neutral and for everyone.
